In this youtube video, Eminem performs his new single from his new album that will be hitting stores on november 5th. In the video he displays similar vulgar language as in the past albums. However, instead of targeting a newer generation like he has done in the past he combines his song with a 90's beat to attract the older audience. He use's references such as "lets take it back to straight hip hop and start it from scratch implying that he thought that 90's hip-hop was predominant. He also reaches out to the older crowd by sharing this song to the viewers before every thursday night football game. In this music video he shows countless amounts of violent acts that cut in and out throughout the music video. The resemblance in his music video to fighting and football are extremely similar in a violent matter. Eminem encourages to "let yourself go and go Berserk" to his audiences as the right thing to do. When asked to analyze this i knew it would be difficult to not be biased because i am an Eminem fan. However, his tone of voice as he yells into the microphone displaying street fights in the background of his video as well as performing before football games leads me to believe that he is wanting to get peoples attention. Eminem has sold more albums than any other hip-hop artist and he has done so predominantly in the 90's. It can be asked if Eminem has corrupted Americas's youth with violence. It leaves wonders if Eminem has shaped our generations of youth negatively and violently. Which leaves the question if Eminem has made thousands of dollars off of violent music, will he remain with violent content to please viewers and make even more money? Or could he be using violence one way or the other to regain more recent fame.

  1. I think this was just an attempt to regain relevance by him, Eminem time has came and went in my opinion.

  2. Hey Joey!
I really enjoyed reading your analysis over Eminem. I do believe Eminem has corrupted some of the young american population due to his vulgarity. It leads me to wonder what his motives are behind his lyrics. Perhaps, anger from his childhood? On the bright side, he is very popular and reaching out to different audiences.
