The american horror story is a Horror/drama tv show. Currently the third season or the Coven is currently aired as of the fall 2013. The tv show is about a particular witch organization called the Coven which is supposed to be one of the most prestigious which organization of all. in the show there are girls who undergo almost pornographic scenes including sex with a menitar half man half bull. also the show details descriptive matters of rape and other explicit means. When asked to rhetorically analyze this i thought that the intro did not live up to what the show was about. the intro's music is very deep and vulgar almost as if nails were on a chalk board. the show displays little if any of the subject matters on the intro. As i looked deeper into the graphics i saw picture over absolute horrific monsters and zombies. However, i saw the resemblance into the show that it could mean that beauty can be a horrific and disgustic subject matter. Then after further detailing what was going on in the intro i saw that there were a mix of only monsters and beautiful witches and came to the conclusion that they were the same. this show i think helps our society know that sometimes monsters can live in beautiful skin. furthermore the matter of a fact that people watch this show frequently might mean that they will be more careful of their own surroundings due to fear.

Hey Joey!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. I believe this show is trying to relay messages to the public about how beauty can be interpreted in different ways. Personally, I am a fan of this show. It is very vulgar and explicit. However, there i agree that there is a deeper meaning to this show and I believe as we continue to watch it, we will continue to know more and more.
Good Job!!
I have never even heard of this show! However, when I read the first sentence of your blog my perception about how you were going to describe the show was completely different from what you analyzed. Shows like this tend to have so many underlying messages that it becomes uninteresting to me and very hard to keep up.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. In American horror story there are many underlying meanings behind things. Most in my opinion have to do with religious spiritual matters. I see where you derive this meaning but I also feel that the vulgar pornographic scenes with monsters has to do with sin. Lust is considered a sin and I think the show is portraying that by the women having sex with the monsters.
